#3 Embrace the Power of Movement, unlocking or innate design for happiness.

Imagine a life where movement is embraced – a life where you honour your natural inclination to be active and engage in physical tasks.  Now imagine a world where you have tapped into your inherent joy, where the benifits of a healthy body and mind are cherished.  This week, I embark on a journey to promote healthy living by encouraging everyone to move more, to step outside, and to exercise better.  As we delve into the realm of wellness and mental health, let us remember that  humans are designed to move and carry things, and our default state is happiness.

The Power of Movement – Our innate desing: As human beings, we are intricately designed for movement.  Your body is equipped with muscles, joints, and a remarkable capacity for physical activity. Throughout history, your ancestors relied on movement for survival – hunting, gathering and building.  It is in your DNA to be active and to use your body to accomlish tasks.  By embracing movement, your body remembers your natural design and unlock your true potential for hapiness and well-being.

Starting out – Gentle Exercise for Beginners: If you want to start, or you are just beginning your journey towards a more active lifestyle, take comfort in the fact that your body is primed for movement.

Start with some simple gentle exercises that bring you joy and are accessible to your current fitness level.  Walking, for example, is a simple yet effective way to introduce movement into your daily routine. Imagine taking short walks around your neighbourhood, park or woods, feeling the rhythm of your steps and the gentle breeze on your face.

Gradually increase the distance as you build stamina and witness the positive impact it has on your overall well-being.  You could even get Strave or any tracking app to record your times and distance to see your improvements.

For those seeking a more structured approach, find exercise you enjoy, walking to workouts, pony ttrekking to pilates.   For example, Yoga provides a harmonious combination of physical postures, breathwork and mindfulness.  Visualise yourself embracing each pose, feeling the stretch and release of tension in your muscles and connecting with your breath.

The importance of Weight Training: Incorporating weight training into your fitness routine is a testimate to our innate design as humans.  Engaging in resistance exercise that challenge your muscles and help you build strength, bone strength and core strength, something the older you will thank you for.

Honour your evolutionary routes and ignite a sense of accomplishment that boosts your happiness and confidence in the future.

Embracing the Great Outdoors: Stepping outside immersing yourself into nature is an essential component of your journey towards better health and happiness.  Imagine yourself in the beauty of the natural world – vibrant colours, crisp air and the symphony of sounds that surround you.  Whetehr you choose ti hike, cysle or simply find solace in a nearby park, the great outdoors calls you to explore, connect and find peace.  Embrace the serenity that nature offers, alllowing it to rejuvinate your mind, body and spirit.

As we conclude the exploration of the power of movement, remember that it is woven into the fabric of your existence.  By acknowledging your innate design for movement and embracing physical activity, we unlock a path to happiness, wellness and mental well-being.

Whether you are just starting out or seeking to enhance your fitness routine, remember that movement is a gift we possess.  Step outside, connect with your body and embark on a journey towards a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life.
